What we do

Vypr is a Private Equity/Venture Capital backed SaaS business providing a market leading product intelligence platform. We are on an exciting journey to be known around the globe for providing reliable consumer data. Our predictive data validation platform enables manufacturers and retailers to understand what their customers want to see on shelves. This helps reduce the time and costs spent developing new products, which makes for better products, faster. Our product combines behavioural science with a well-segmented consumer panel, and we have an enviable client list.

About this role

We are looking to recruit a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team and be a part of something exceptional. You'll work in a cross-functional, agile team alongside a quality engineer, product manager, designer, and a delivery manager, all within a single autonomous team. We have a strong belief in empowerment, and by having the right skills and experience in the team, the team can work independently to define and deliver on our goals.

Our Tech Stack

TypeScript, NextJS, Playwright, Jest, NodeJS, AWS, LangChain & Python

Why join Vypr’s product team?

·       Opportunity to build a brand new AI-Driven SAAS platform on AWS serverless

·       We dedicate time for learning, attending/speaking at conferences and events

·       We run regular knowledge-sharing sessions & quarterly hack days

·       We write about the work we do in a blog (http://blog.vypr.it/)

What you will do

  • Develop our backend platform and APIs using modern development standards, technologies, and techniques. This includes taking a leading role in design and architecture decisions.

  • You will have an active role in all aspects of the development life cycle, from story refinement to deployment to production.

  • Write unit, integration, and end to end tests to ensure code quality. Lead the effort in setting up and maintaining testing frameworks and best practices.

  • Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable. Lead optimisation projects and guide less experienced team members in these tasks.

  • Proactively contribute to a team culture that values quality, robustness, and knowledge sharing.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies that could improve the quality of our software.

  • Contribute to the product blog.

What you are good at

  • You have a solid foundation in TypeScript and Node.js and have experience with AWS Serverless architecture. You possess strong skills in building and maintaining APIs and are comfortable working with DynamoDB. Your expertise includes backend caching mechanisms, message queuing, monitoring systems, as well as CI/CD practices, automated testing strategies and third-party API integrations.

  • Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for back-end architectures.

  • You enjoy significant autonomy in your role, leading backend decisions, project directions, and technology choices. Your ability to solve complex problems independently is paramount.

  • Building products that delight people while also being stable, scalable, secure, observable, and performant is something you're enthusiastic about.

  • You have keen attention to detail, are adaptable, and work well in a team.

  • You are keen to mentor junior engineers and help them grow.

  • You are up for sharing knowledge to strengthen the ability of the team.

  • You strive to be the best in the world at what you do and want to be surrounded by others who do so as well.

  • You have strong, well-informed opinions but are open to being convinced otherwise through thoughtful discussion and debates with your teammates.

  • You have a bias towards action.

  • You are a problem solver and spend your time figuring stuff out rather than explaining why it can't be done.

  • You are incurably & insatiably curious. You probably know the difference between baking soda and baking powder (if you don't now, you want to go and find out, don't you?).

  • You know when more analysis will help and when it's time to move on.

  • You have a genuine interest in technology and stay up to date with latest developments and trends.
